Teacher training for the
Hands On: Real-World Lessons for Middle
School Classrooms was developed based on best practices and
current research on teacher professional development. The
Hands
On program offers a free two-day professional development
workshop, which is designed to:
- Raise background knowledge on food safety
- Familiarize teachers with the novel instructional strategies included in the program
- Model the effective delivery of lessons and labs
While two-day training is ideal Hands On offers a few varieties of training:
- One-day
- Two-day
- Summer
- Teacher work days
Hands On staff are available to conduct training sessions
over the summer or on teacher work days.
